About the Author
Ashley MacKinnon has always been fascinated by the places where reality and imagination blur. A lifelong reader and traveler she weaves her love of history, languages, and storytelling into fantastical worlds filled with magic, danger, and feelings. When she isn’t working on her writing she can usually be found baking, watching sports, or curled up with her two elderly cats Elvis and Presley.
She grew up in Bourne, Massachusetts before heading to Washington, D.C. for college where her love of big cities and diverse stories deepened. Now living in Plymouth with some family members she continues to draw inspiration from New England’s rich history. Being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder as an adult has given her a unique perspective on resilience and imagination, both of which shape the heart of her writing. Her disability affects her life, but doesn’t dictate it.
